It is a platform in which scholars of color are purposefully celebrated. It’s a space where scholars of color are showcased front and center. It is a digital space where we feel empowered and resilient. Let us get to know each other. Let us cheer each other on AND show the world what we have to offer.

What do you currently do for work and/or school?: Area Coordinator for the Office of Residential Life at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette
Without positions or titles, how would you describe yourself?: Joyful, black and proud, social, visionary, persistent, BEYHIVE member since 1998
What are you passionate about?: Social Justice, Sustainability, personal growth, and Career Development
Why is the representation of scholars of color important to you?: When others view scholars of color, I want them to see the greatness that is being contributed to the world. Whether it’s through research, activism, etc. I want the future generations and current scholars of color to know that their potential is LIMITLESS and ever evolving. We are people who create spaces for knowledge and personal growth to develop and thrive.

Anything else you would like us to know?: I am currently pursuing my master’s degree in Counselor Education. My aspiration is to use the knowledge I acquire from this experience to aid queer people of color, especially youth, overcome the anxiety and stress that may prevent them from thriving in spaces and fulfilling their own potential.
